Drew Jones is a trial lawyer with broad commercial litigation experience, representing clients in contract, corporate governance, bankruptcy, and data privacy disputes. He employs a keen legal insight, as well as a strong business background, navigating his clients though complex and sensitive business disputes.
Drew Jones is a trial lawyer focused on commercial litigation before state and federal courts across the U.S. His litigation practice covers a wide range of business issues, including breach of commercial contracts, master service agreements, corporate governance disputes, and bankruptcy litigation involving financial fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, preference actions, and fraudulent transfers. He also has extensive experience in data privacy disputes, including having his CIPP Certification (Certified Information Privacy Professional). Part of his practice centers on data privacy disputes, advising clients on the collection and maintenance of data analytics. Drew possesses a strong business background as a dual major in accounting and finance, helping him advise his clients on the finer points of valuation disputes.
When not practicing law, Drew strives to spend most of his free time outdoors. Whether hiking 14ers in Colorado, training for his next Hyrox, snowboarding, or sailing the Aegean Sea, he is a huge fan of adventure. When not exploring, he enjoys spending time with his dog, Charlie, and rooting for his Oklahoma Sooners.
NOTABLE RESULTS AND SUCCESSES:
- Representation of numerous U.S. bankruptcy trustees and Litigation Trusts in disputes and multi-week trials against Big 4 auditing firms, former corporate officers and directors, national and international law firms, and investment banks. Drew has handled such matters in Texas, New York, California, North Carolina, and Colorado. In addition to professional liability and voidable transfer issues, representations also have concerned industries as diverse as continuing care retirement centers, medical blood and specimen testing facilities, energy companies and investment companies.
- Successfully defended a consulting firm hired to implement an inventory management process for a national furniture retailer against allegations of material breach of Master Services Agreement.
- Successfully defended a credit union in a class-action litigation related to overdraft fees, resulting in complete dismissal of credit union.
- Represented sellers of a commercial building in a fraud and fraudulent inducement of a sale dispute, including allegations that there were material misrepresentations in both the occupancy and condition of the property on the date of closing.
- Successfully prosecuted an action on behalf of a consulting and management firm that provided care for special needs individuals that resulted in resolving a missing $700,000 in unpaid services.
- Secured a positive outcome for a group of doctors as tenants in a landlord/tenant dispute related to poor conditions maintained by the landlord.
- Defended adhesive manufacturer in a product liability dispute related to the failure of AstroTurf installed in an indoor soccer arena that led to the injury of a soccer player.
- Represented a golf supplier related to a business interruption loss that was the result of a catastrophic fire, resulting in obtaining several million dollars in lost revenue and damaged inventory.
- Represented an appliance warehouse in a dispute with a retailer related to a fire that started in the warehouse, resulting in smoke damage to the next-door retailer and its inventory.
- Obtained favorable results defending multiple engineers for their work in the design and implantation of construction of both residential and commercial properties.
- Routinely obtain successful outcomes on behalf of general contractors and subcontractors in defending claims related to construction defects.
- Facilitated the successful resolution for an individual who specialized in securitizing revenue streams of sporting events after prior company alleged intellectual property theft and defamation.
