The success that our clients have enabled us to achieve affords us the ability to give back to our community.  Many of our attorneys are second and third generation Dallasites who, along with their spouses, are active in numerous local charitable and civic causes.

This includes substantial financial contributions to various charities, pro-bono work for non-profit organizations, and substantial time working on committees for numerous charitable and civic causes. Our attorneys also provide free legal service to the economically disadvantaged and have received awards from the Dallas Bar Association for their volunteer pro-bono work.

BLACKIE SHERROD’S ART AUCTION FOR SMU SCHOLARSHIP

Sherrod donated more than 200 pieces of his own artwork, sold at a silent auction for the creation of a scholarship for the Division of Journalism at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts.

 

ERIC DICKERSON LEARNING CENTER CHARITY EVENT

Rogge Dunn Group supported the Eric Dickerson All-Star Golf Invitational by hosting a private seated charity dinner at our Dallas office on February 27. The event brought together DFW community leaders, partners, and philanthropic supporters to raise awareness and funds for the Hope Through Housing Foundation and the Eric Dickerson Learning Center. NFL legend and SMU alum Eric Dickerson joined guests for an engaging question-and-answer session, sharing insights from his career and his passion for supporting youth education. The Eric Dickerson Learning Center, launched in April 2025 in Fort Worth, provides students in affordable housing with access to STEM learning, leadership development, and academic support—helping create brighter futures for the next generation.

Recent Charitable Donations

We donated money, sweat, and elbow grease on a recent Saturday to help build a home for a single-parent and her two kids. The homeowner to be was side-by-side with us, swinging a hammer.  It was one small step to providing affordable housing for deserving families in Dallas.  It was one of our Firm’s most rewarding charitable donations.

Some of the volunteer work we have done and contributions we have made include:

  • Donation of the T-Rex dinosaur model used in the first Jurassic Park movie to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science
  • Funded restoration of Santa Anna’s battle flag, captured by Sam Houston at the Battle of San Jacinto, which is part of the permanent collection of the Dallas Historical Society
  • Pro-Bono legal work for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science
  • Pro-Bono legal work for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
  • Pro-Bono legal work for the Frontiers of Flight Museum
